Planned Giving

The Office of Development encourages our stakeholders and outside funders to consider Planned Giving to support Southern Wake Academy.  This is a wonderful opportunity to show your lasting commitment, and it will help ensure financial stability, educational planning, and expansion plans to our future students.

Planned gifts have a noble destination: to help secure the future of our school. Your generosity not only impacts the lives of our current students, but also has long term benefits for students who will pass through our doors for years to come.

Most donors take advantage of Planned Giving options, because it provides tax incentives that reduce tax liabilities associated to their personal estate.  These types of gifts are based on future commitments, and require the professional guidance and oversight of a financial planner, or tax accountant to ensure you are making the right choices.

Please consider Planned Giving options to support our school when you are making decisions about current and future assets.

A planned gift to SWA might take the form of:

  • A Bequest in a Will
  • Gift from a Trust
  • Gift of Securities – stock, bonds, mutual funds
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Designation as a Beneficiary of a Life Insurance Policy
  • Designation as a Beneficiary of a Retirement Plan or IRA
  • Real estate – home or automobile

What is the Annual Fund?

The SWA Annual Fund is the unrestricted financial home of all fundraising efforts and donations for Southern Wake Academy.  Our voluntary gifts come from SWA families, teachers, administrators, staff, board of directors, alumnae, members of the community, and Friends of SWA.

SWA isn’t like a ‘traditional’ school. If you need help, all my teachers will give me personalized time. It shows they care and are willing to make sure I finish my school work.
